Contact tracing is a method used to effectively control infectious disease outbreaks globally. It is based on identifying people that have been in close proximity to people that are infected, and then alerting them so they can
be tested by the health care authority.
The app can trace people who come in close proximity to confirmed COVID-19 cases using Bluetooth technology. Both phones exchange anonymized IDs which are stored in encrypted
form, on the Stay Safe app so Health Authorities can quickly contact people at risk and they can be retested.
NFS’s Stay Safe Mobile digital tracing technologies allow, in real time, from positive cases, to identify potentially contaminated cases, to assess the risk (based on distance & duration of the interactions. Depending on the nature, number and duration
of their interactions with positive or potential cases). These potential contaminated cases are: on the one hand, informed , asked to :
i) self-quarantine automatically (decision to do further
testing lays with the public health authority upon examining the data plus recommendation from the algorithm), and on the other hand,
ii) taken into account in the Stay Safe platform for the assessment of the potential
risk of spread to other people who may have been in contact with these potentially infected cases in the past 3 weeks).
This approach makes it possible to target tests in the higher risk segment or to prioritize given
the limited resources.
This technology is based on data storage, intensive data analysis (big data) and artificial intelligence.
The Stay Safe health coding system involves the generation of a unique personal QR code and a color-coding system that determines the status of your health. The colors represent the following:
Your unique QR code that is refreshed every 2 minutes can be verified and scanned. This gives peace of mind that your health status and the status of those around you means you can safely interact with others in meetings and public places.
